UPS – Uninterruptible Power Supplies
The UPS – Uninterruptible Power Supplies Protects against power interruptions.
This is by providing a battery backup power in the case where common power problems such as a blackout, voltage sag, or voltage surge present themselves.
When incoming utility power drops below or surges above safe voltage levels, then the Uninterrupted Power Supply switches to a Direct Current (DC) battery power and then inverts it to an Alternating Current (AC) power to power connected equipment’s.
There are three major types of UPS’s, theses are:
1.A Standby UPS
2.Line Interactive
3.Online devices
These three types generally meet both the enterprise and consumer needs, in their own different ways.
In addition each type keeps network devices operational when power is unavailable. With features such as energy metering vary by model.
