Ubiquiti UF-AE UFiber Fibre-Ethernet Converter True-Tech
The Ubiquiti UF-AE UFiber Fibre-Ethernet Converter
Product description
The Ubiquiti UF-AE is a 1 Gbps fiber-to-copper media converter; it allows ISPs to deliver active fiber to a customer’s premises and connect it to affordable SOHO network equipment lacking SFP ports. Its compact design allows the UFiber Active Ethernet Fiber-to-Ethernet Converter to be discreetly integrated into any environment.
Ubiquiti Fiber Active Ethernet Fiber-to-Ethernet Converter Key Features
- Active Fiber Delivered to Customer’s Premises
- Gigabit Data to Devices over Long Distances
- Powered by 802.3af PoE or 24VPassive PoE
Fiber Optic Data Transport
dfiber optic cable for data transport significantly reduces electrostatic discharge (ESD) failures and electromagnetic interference (EMI).
nintegrity is also sustained in runs beyond 100 meters, the limit of Ethernet over twisted-pair cable. The Fiber Active Ethernet Fiber-to-Ethernet Converter delivers data over long distances at high speed using fiber. The UF-AE provides fiber connectivity to an RJ45 Ethernet device, which in turn provides 802.3af or 24V passive PoE to the UF-AE
The U Fiber Active Ethernet is a Fiber-to-Ethernet converter with one hot-swappable SFP port (1 Gbps) and one RJ45 Gigabi tEthernet port.
AndThe device is powered through either 802.3af Active PoE or 24V Passive PoE.
In the deployment scenario above, the UF-AE fulfills an important role in the network by converting the Single-Mode fiber link from the ES-10XP into an Ethernet connection for the airCube AC (ACB-AC). This setup allows the airCube AC to be connected over a long distance, negating the distance limitations of a standard Ethernet connection.
The SFP modules are used to set up the fiber connection between the ES-10XP and the UF-AE. The ACB-AC is either powered through a 24V Passive or the included power supply. The airCube AC then provides 24V Passive PoE out of the WAN port to power the UF-AE.
